A truly stellar death/doom album with heavy doses of black metal. Tracks like Isolation, Child of Light, and Broken Hymns deliver the sorrowful and icy tone of this album, elevated by the stirring cello compositions of Raphael Weinroth-Browne. The album delivers a deeply satisfying crescendo in Becoming Intangible before stirring the soul once again with Epilogue. Matt Richardson

I can't formally retract the erroneous 2.0 I gave this back in 2018, but I can say that, five years on, I've come around to this record in a big way. Quality death metal with great atmosphere without being "atmospheric" (read: boring) metal. Diabolus in Muzaka

Interesting how the album starts in a relatively peaceful way before it rips your face off and kicks your butt in. Also, there is BASS on this album.
Edit: I forgot to mention how those guys can write fucking great songs... Seriously, listen to this riff! And the riff that comes right after it! Those are great riffs, you know?! Nekobibu
